We have sent a large sums of money on 7th Dec
2013 and as of 19/02/2014 the full amount has
NOT been credited to the Bangladeshi Account
yet – that’s 75 days and counting (2
months, 13 days & counting)! This is contrary
to what has been promised, expected by the
virtue of a TRANSFER business and as per
their own receipt - the transfer should have
been completed within 7 working days. Iqra
have also been ignoring and refusing to
refund.
We have been chasing and chasing (mostly
unanswered & unreturned), and all we get a
cycle of lies (busy, year ends, not well,
driving, not in but the owner is there when
you go to the office, will get his son to
call, which never happens, being
processed…), and broken promises (check
tomorrow, check Sunday, contacting their
bank, being processed, will call later….
only to be disappointed when our bank
confirms otherwise – the Bank is tired of
checking now)…… As of 17/02/2014, the
owner has turned HIS PHONE OFF AND GONE
MISSING (initially, was told that he was
unwell, then out of the city and today out of
the country)! His son pretends he doesn’t
know anything and continues the theme of
lies\excuses– Like Father, Like Son.
We were fooled by their so called Islamic
appearance (long dress, books on his desk…)
or words to end a sentence (inshAllah which
really means it won’t go). But actions has
testified a different character. A hadith
that comes to mind: “The signs of the
hypocrite are three: WHEN HE SPEAKS, HE LIES;
WHEN HE MAKES A PROMISE, HE BREAKS IT; AND
WHEN HE IS ENTRUSTED WITH SOMETHING, HE
BETRAYS THAT TRUST”.
Iqra have poor track record and consistently
don’t deliver money on time. That delay is
most likely helping Iqra owner and sons to
make money (i.e. risky investments, earn
interests or disguised ones with Islamic
terms, etc.) WITHOUT your consent (of course,
more houses, cars, or even LiteAce in Matiura
for him and his sons…..).
This is contrary to financial regulations
(they are a money TRANSFER business, NOT TO
HOLD YOUR MONEY) and should be reported to
Trading Standards
