APPLE REPAIRER IN UK - ECCLES, LA

Not good - fixed one fault and caused another. Replaced an iPad LCD screen - but it came back with a battery/charging fault. When I tookit back they asked for additional payment to repair a fault that they had caused (claimed it needed a battery replacement), and point blank refused to accept that the fault could possibly have been caused by them. Sadly my word against theirs even though I knew they were the cause of the additional damage - 100% that the iPad was charging fine before they cracked it open, but they effectively called me a liar. Also had it from them on a Saturday morning when I went to collect (had been told it would be ready 5pm Friday, so went Saturday morning and it wasn't ready) that the iPad had been opened on the Friday afternoon but work not completed, and it wasn't reported back to me as ready for collection until later that Saturday afternoon. The unit would therefore have easily been open for 18+ hours at their premises (and I don't care if it was in a lockbox overnight) - probably more, but apparently there's no way that the fault could have been introduced whilst the device was in their care! Patronising, disingenuous and careless (the pad also came back with scratches at the edges of the digitizer). Also only took payment at the shop in cash so probably scamming the VAT. When the pad was picked up a second time the next day by my partner, after I told them I wouldn't pay them £50 to replace the battery, they'd mysteriously found what the charging problem was and resolved it (not the battery after all then?!?). Looks now like the quality of the screen repair is also suspect - there are odd distortions in the screen (which are visiable against a flat light coloured screen, so agaianst a flat white background looks like there are depressions it in that move when you put pressure on the screen). Avoid! Under no circumstances trust your device to these amateurs and rogues.
