DOBBIES GARDEN CENTRE GOSFORTH - GOSFORTH, TY

For the second time in three weeks visited for a “two for one “ cooked breakfast today in the restaurant, won’t be making a third visit. On the first occasion despite being in an orderly socially distanced queue comprising four couples, we were told by a young male assistant that this was a social gathering and we’d have to disperse. He offered to look for us around the store when we could enter the restaurant. He didn’t say how he would remember us let alone recall us the order we had been in... I couldn’t be bothered to challenge his photographic memory and left the store in order to donate my cash elsewhere.
On our visit today we were permitted to queue but no more than four single people at the counter. Found this “over the top “ as this meant individuals were about five metres apart!!
Our breakfasts arrived after thirty minutes and only after we enquired after their whereabouts; although edible they’d clearly stood in the kitchen for some while awaiting to be brought out. We needed to ask for cutlery and butter for the toast... we still await the butter. To add to the experience the staff member in her hurry to place the food on the table succeeded in jettisoning my toast to the floor admittedly offering to replace it rather grudgingly.
Restaurant staff appear to be totally disorganized and wishing they were anywhere else rather than dealing with the paying public. If the intention is to encourage customers back into the store in these strange and challenging times, they are failing miserably.

I asked at Dobbies Gosforth on Sunday if they had any soil conditioner, and was told that you couldn't buy it anywhere! Found exactly what I wanted at Dobbies Ponteland the following day. Do these stores compete against each other? Thought they were the same company. The service hasn't improved since it was owned by Wyevale. Pity.
